I’m a little bit late getting this one out, but don’t worry, there is still a whole bunch of great shows to go and see this month.
As ever, a disclaimer that music is subjective blah blah blah. This is my list, and these are the shows I’m excited about this month.
Brujeria/Dayglo Abortions – The Astoria
As well as Mexico’s Brujeria and Canadian legends Dayglo Abortions, this brutal show also features Incite, Process and Assimilation.
Subhumans – The Rickshaw Theatre
Check out this legendary English band and their pull-no-punches, politicised punk.
Music Waste Festival – Various Venues
Music Waste features comedy, art and music across four days and a range of venues.
Iceage – The Astoria
Fresh off the release of the band’s latest album, Beyondless, these Danish post-punkers will take over the Astoria with their moody music.
Dead Quiet/Hashteroid – The Biltmore Cabaret
Dumb (Album release) – NRG Zone
Having heard a preview of Dumb’s forthcoming album, Seeing Green, this show is sure to be a rager. Support comes from Supermoon, Fountain, Nick Normal and Sister Blanche.
Needles//Pins – The Astoria
Have A Good Laugh Vol. 3 – Various Venues
Get your hardcore fix at this annual event which features tonnes of heavy-as-fuck bands at venues across the city.
Needs (Album release) – SBC Restaurant
Hardcore band Needs is releasing Limitations, a follow-up to its self-titled 2015 album, at this celebration. You can also get your grubby mitts on Limitations before the release date by signing up on the band’s website.
