However much of a Scrooge you may be, if you’re a Vancouver metal fan, Deathmas Festivus has to be up your alley. The annual event, held at the Rickshaw Theatre, raises money for the Greater Vancouver food bank — and who can say no to rocking out while simultaneously doing good in the world?
If you like your music loud and heavy, don’t miss out on this one. Heading up the bill are local thrashers Nylithia, but the fun doesn’t stop there. The night will include a grand total of NINE bands: all of them local, all of them heavy. As well as Nylithia, Terrifier, The Mountain Man, Evilosity, Obsidian, Hallux, Unbeheld, The Waning Light, and PreciousDudes will be doing their best to blow your ears off.
All that and it’s cheap to get in! Tickets are $10 advance or $15 on the door, but that gets lowered to $10 if you bring two non-perishable food donations or $5 if you wear a Santa suit. Heavy metal Santa, anyone?
Deathmas Festivus takes place at the Rickshaw Theatre in Vancouver on Friday, December 15. Click here for full details.
Get in the Deathmas spirit by listening to Terrifier’s’s ‘Reanimator’ from the band’s recently released album, Weapons of Thrash Destruction.
